Established in Sydney in 1995, Spitting Image has become the leading pre-press and specialist print service for contemporary art in Australia.
Artists rely on our services to reproduce their work with a colour accuracy that is both nuanced and precise. Spitting Image is also the leading prepress provider for contemporary art books in Australia. In an increasingly competitive market we have both retained and grown relationships with the major museums and institutions due to our reliable, swift and committed delivery on major projects and publications.
PUBLICATIONS
We specialise in contemporary art books. Some projects demand a full service from design consultation through to pre-press, others are created very closely in rare edition for individuals. Our ongoing collaborations with both commercial galleries and a small coterie of artists relies on creative expertise, colour accuracy and a certain complicity built over time.
For over 20 years Spitting Image have been responsible for the exhibition monographs, catalogues and press materials of the international museum shows at major art institutions in Australia.

The BookshelfLimited Edition Art Prints
We work closely with artists to produce limited edition prints on archival media. Museum quality editions have been created in collaboration with many artists.
Special Projects
Spitting Image collaborate directly with designers and artists to create limited edition books, art prints and photographic folios. Spitting Image seeks to foster the proliferation of diverse art practice, quality print and experimental publishing by working directly with artists and creating bespoke projects for commercial galleries.
Many of our special projects have been acquired by major museums, cultural institutions and international collectors.
